For the connoisseurs among you, we’ve created a special gourmet selection: “I Pregiati di Montebodio” or “The Pride of Montebodio”, named in tribute to our local area. Until 1881, Ostra was known as Montebodio.
Some of the meats in the Pride of Montebodio range have been enriched with Lacrima di Morro d’Alba, a renowned local wine, while others contain a selection of aromatic herbs typically found in the countryside of Le Marche.
These cured meats have a carefully-cultivated flavour, uncomplicated but always distinctive. We’ve gone slightly against the trend in rediscovering lard, used in days gone by as a seasoning and a valuable source of energy. Not forgetting our diet-conscious customers, we have also created a product that’s rich in protein and very low in fat. These cured meats are designed for customers looking for a traditional yet exciting gourmet option.
- “Il Garbato” is a pork loin that has lard, rind and a delicate flavour. Made with a pinch of pepper and garlic, it will delight the most sophisticated palate.
- “Il Selvatico” cured pork loin blends wild herbs with lard to create an explosion of flavours.
- “Il Campagnolo” salami has a tasty, balanced flavour. Contains finely-ground lardoons and shoulder, enriched with Lacrima di Morro d’Alba wine.
- “Il Rubino” tenderloin takes its name from the ruby-red colour. With a mild, refined flavour, it’s the ideal choice if you prefer a low-fat, high-protein option.
